Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure - REVIEW

Film of the Day #77/ 300

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is a totally bodacious, awesomely righteous and most triumphant time-capsule comedy. The surprise hit of 1989 see’s Bill S. Preston and Ted Logan travel back in time in order to preserve the future as its known and avoid flunking history. The film may not be a masterpiece, but it may possibly be one of the most intelligently written screenplays of all time. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is the definitive coming of age film of its era. This non-stop adventure comedy cleverly combines truly amusing and gnarly dialogue with an original – if somewhat borrowed plot to create the ultimate and most entertaining history lesson to date. The ingenuity of the movie can even be seen in its delightful tagline: "History is about to be re-written by two guys who can't spell." The Title says it all. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is most definitely just that; a nostalgic trip to a time when women were babes and men were dudes. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure will always get an A+ from me. Party on dudes! (triumphant air-guitar)
