Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - REVIEW

Film of the Day #113/ 300

One of the slickest gangster movies ever made, Guy Ritchie’s debut feature film has the Lock, Stock the fucking lot. A wonderfully crafted and uniquely entertaining film, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a clever, complex and comic caper that is a cinematic treat of twisted perfection. Stylishly directed and beautifully shot Lock, Stock entertains the masses with its intricate plot, kinetic editing and use of imaginative camera angles. Richie injects style, pace and energy into the film with originality and panache to create a cinematic classic, that not only revolutionised the British crime genre but also inspired my own love for film. Lock, Stock was released over thirteen years ago, however, I still regularly quote lines from one of my favourite ever movies. What more can I say, other than... it’s been emotional.
