Anchorman - REVIEW

Film of the Day #167/ 300

URGENT NEWSFLASH! I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. If you haven’t already, it’s time to musk up and do the no-pants dance with one of the greatest and most quotable comedies ever made. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is a nostril stinging, jazz flute of a movie that will leave you a lamp loving, glass case of emotion. Anchorman is an afternoon delight. If you failed to bag yourself a classy lady by giving her two tickets to the gun show, then the best way to cheer yourself up is to watch Anchorman; 60 percent of the time it works every time. Anchorman balances its social satire with some outlandish visual gags and moments of surreal hilarity. Will Ferrell is at the top of his game, giving us a character who is utterly shallow, silly, and vainglorious, yet completely likable cult hero. You stay classy San Diego. Cannonball!
