Rising Sun - REVIEW

Film of the Day #180/ 300

A must for all Connery fans – Based on the Michael Crichton novel, Rising Sun is a decent if somewhat clich├ęd thriller that pairs Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes as mismatched police officers called to investigate a homicide at Nakamoto Towers. Rising Sun is an entertaining and thoroughly engrossing movie that captures the fear and attitude towards Japan’s emerging dominance and threat to business and the western civilization in the early nineties. Filled with the usual mix of culture clash and stereotypes, Rising Sun may be a dated movie; however this adaptation is smartly plotted and will keep you guessing all the way until sunset.
