Jaws: The Revenge - REVIEW

Film of the Day #200/ 300

The story is a shipwreck, the dialogue makes you seasick and the movie completely ignores all that happens in the third installment of the series, however, I still love Jaws: The Revenge. The third sequel to the 1975 mega-hit Jaws, returns Lorraine Gary to role of Ellen Brody and stars Michael Caine as carefree airplane pilot Hoagie Newcombe, as the Brody family, once again, find themselves in danger. I’m not sure the credibility of any other series has fallen quite so far; from an Oscar-nominated masterpiece to possibly the cheesiest movie ever made, Jaws: The Revenge is simply another shameful attempt to cash in on the legacy. However, psychic sharks aside, Jaws: The Revenge is essential viewing and although it may be missing that special some-fin, Revenge must be witnessed as an amazingly amusing tail.
